English teacher required for Duffryn area

On behalf of our client, Education Supply Pool are currently recruiting for an English Teacher to start in February 2019, this role to cover a long term absence. The school is a happy, ambitious and successful learning community. The school's performance at GCSE and A level has been exceptional over the last 3 years and the school balances its academic success with a focus on the wellbeing and care of every child. This is an exciting time in the school's development with new curriculum opportunities, a desire to continue to develop learning and teaching and a relentless focus on ensuring young people fulfil their potential. You would be expected to fully immerse yourselves in the department, contributing to department meetings, parent evenings, marking and planning. The school actively welcomes applications from both newly qualified teachers as well as experienced staff members.

The successful candidate must be able to:

  • Maintain a level of respect, control and discipline within the classroom
  • Record and assess individual progress (culminating in the production of student reports)
  • Take part in/assist with the organisation of school events and activities beyond teaching hours
  • Liaise with colleagues to ensure unity and support are in place
  • Keep up-to-date with the curriculum and any changes or developments within it
  • Follow safeguarding strategies, reporting any concerns to the appropriate safeguarding officer.
