Science Teaching Vacancy in Newport

Education Supply Pool have an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic Science teacher to work in a busy Newport secondary school. The role is for the autumn term of the 2018/19 school year and is to provide cover for a new member of staff that is unable to commence employment until January 2019. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to teach to students across all key stages and must be comfortable teaching up to A-level in their specialist subject.

The school is a popular and well established school who offers its diverse pupils every chance to succeed. The school’s academic success and extra-curricular opportunities are well documented. The school is rated as the top performing secondary school in the area. n 2017, the most recent results available, 68.3% of pupils at St. Joseph's R.C. High School gained at least 5 A* to C grade GCSES including English/Welsh and Maths. This is well above the national average in Wales of 54.6%. In fact, results across the school show success starts early, with high test results both at Key Stage 4 and Key Stage 3.

The successful candidate must;

·         Be a fully qualified Teacher, with a PGCE in secondary education. The school will however consider applications from NQT’s

·         Have previous experience teaching within a secondary school setting and be able to deal with a range of behaviour

·         Have experience of teaching within the UK

·         Be a flexible and confident individual, who has a creative approach to teaching
